All though we were cousins, I did not - for purely geographical reasons - get to know Rae at all well until comparatively recently, when we had both relocated to the South West. But I am very glad that I eventually did - though too briefly. I shall remember her with great affection, and great admiration for her cheerful stoicism in coping with her mobility problems.
